I am a below knee amputee and partial foot amputee. I lost my pieces due to an IED/EFP in Iraq 2007. Before this I was a star athlete in sports with scholarships to various colleges. Now I am a loving father and husband thanks to a supporting wife. I farm, hike, still play sports with the kids, race cars and compete in bowling tournaments. I got through this process by finding other avenues to compete in to help with the useless feeling of losing what I was, smiling at all costs, and just being positive. Now I push my prosthetic legs to the limits and see what they offer or don't. Remember no matter what we lost, we are not alone and there are things we can do each day to push on and be thankful for.
